Cyclic Beginnings
beginning this week i will be teaching our pea ridge body life group .it has been over a year since i have taught and i’m pretty stoked about the opportunity .we have been going through the book of james and a lot of questions have been cropping up concerning various illustrations and points of reference that he makes
.as i have been studying to finish out the book in james chapter 5, i made a startling discovery for myself that has really opened my eyes to the author’s intent .it concerned the word “perfect” that occurs in chapter 3 verse 2 .i struggled with jame’s view of man and deity until I saw a crossreference for the word perfect which in greek is “teleios” .all of the sudden i had a nagging feeling of having seen or heard the greek form of it .after some digging i came across the passages i remembered and found the definition .maturity .james wasn’t speaking on the deity of Christ but on the fallacy of a false man .the whole book is geared on what a mature christian man should be (Light-bulb)
.i felt like an idiot .it was always about perspective, as is all life .james is writing to the christian about himself .not how to become one, but how one should become
